i really like these screenshots of oscar.
sometimes i remember he used to have a much bigger part in ds1's story. having him reappear as a rivaling chosen undead until the end would have been a fun plotline.

i'm also really fond of the pendant as a starting item. in my head i always pictured (in-game) humanity as the very essence of someone's will to live and take care of their body and mind for something. a lot of npcs resist hollowing by devoting themselves to a deity/covenant and attaching their humanity to a vow, like solaire with his sun, lautrec with fina, etc etc, so i like to think the pendant serves as a reminder to the player character's reason to go on, a memory to hold on to that stops you from hollowing. much more important than any master key :P

in past playthroughs i always picked knight, warrior or wretch as a starting class so this time i went with a wanderer. i wanted to base my character off an oc i made up for the game but the character creator really is a drag so i just gave up halfway through (it is. so incredibly difficult to give your character a darker skintone without accidently turning him yellow or red).

also for some reason i never noticed you could jump down here to get to the black knight faster??

and lautrec! anyone who knows me knows i'm a big fan of this guy. probably my favorite character in the history of ever. i'm honestly a little embarrassed by how attached i've grown to him over the past few years.
i'm pretty sure my perception/interpretation of him is vastly different to what the devs intended, but idrc at this point. it's fun to make stuff up about him. like that fina is nothing but a product of his imagination, his brain resorting to desperate measures in a time of miserable solitude. flopever
